Job Description

One of our Melbourne based clients is about to undertake a significant contract with a federal government department, we are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Technical Business Analyst to join this growing team.

Role Overview 

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and external stakeholders to understand requirements, analyse complex data, and translate business solutions into actionable technical specifications. Your ability to quickly grasp new products and concepts will be essential in driving our initiatives forward.

This is a hybrid Melbourne based role. 

A requirement for this role is to get a Baseline Security Clearance. This role is only applicable to Australian Citizens, applicants who are Permanent Residents will not be considered, so please do not apply.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and capture business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications for the development team.
  • Prepare detailed written analyses, including user stories, process maps and both product and technical specifications, ensuring high attention to detail.
  • Understand technical integrations and workflows and support the engineering team to define, streamline and document these solutions.
  • Work closely with internal teams (product and engineering) and external partners (government agencies, vendors, other customers) to facilitate discussion, clarify requirements, and ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Run and attend tech discovery, grooming and stand-up ceremonies to validate solutions.
  • Assist in the development, and support the execution, of testing strategies and scenarios to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are implemented successfully.
  • Participate and contribute to the development of BA processes and best practices.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technical environment, with experience in the health industry being an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in analysing and documenting technical requirements and specifications.
  • Familiarity with integration tools and methodologies, such as APIs and data mapping.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail. 
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, etc.) is a plus. 
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile certifications) are a plus
