Role Overview:

Seeking a hands-on Technical Specialist to lead the development and standardization of engineering solutions for traded risk in a financial institution. The role requires expertise in Unix scripting, SQL, and batch process automation to enhance risk management systems. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in automation, leadership, and technical excellence in traded risk technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and standardization of engineering frameworks for traded risk.
• Provide coding expertise in Unix (bash, Python) and/or Java, with deep SQL knowledge.
• Design and manage batch processes and ensure smooth integration with other risk systems.
• Drive automation to improve efficiency and maintainability of risk management solutions.
• Guide the team in adopting innovative technologies and continuous improvement practices.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong Unix scripting (bash/shell), with Python knowledge being a plus.
• Expertise in SQL (Oracle databases).
• Knowledge of Credit Risk in capital markets.
• Experience in batch process automation and integration (familiarity with Control-M or Autosys).
• Proven ability to lead teams and promote automation in risk technology solutions.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Java development experience.
• Familiarity with risk management platforms (e.g., Murex, Calypso, FIS).
• Exposure to DevOps/CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of market risk in capital markets.
• Experience with cloud-based risk solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
